Lowe, O&M, McCann triumph at Clio Awards 2007

At the International Clio Awards 2007, Lowe won two silvers, O&M won a silver and a bronze and McCann Erickson won two bronze metals

The results for the 48th International Clio Awards that took place at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach, Florida, May 9-12, have been announced. Three Indian agencies, including Lowe, O&M and McCann Erickson have made it to the winners’ list this year.

None of the agencies managed to win a gold metal, but Lowe is the agency that got the maximum silvers. Lowe bagged two silver metals, both for its single entry on Cancer Patients Aid Association, titled ‘Statutory Warnings’, in the Print Public Service category and Poster Public Service category. The ad shows a series of pictures of cigarette warnings displayed in various forms and languages. These pictures lead up to a final message that sarcastically raised further concern by saying ‘Smoking causes Blindness’.

The agency won the bronze metal for a WWF ad, titled ‘Tree’, in the Poster Public Service category. The ad showed a cluster of animals packed together to form the image of a tree. The tag line said: ‘Save One. Save All.’

McCann Erickson won two bronze metals for Happydent Teeth Whitening Gum and Reebok Sportswear in the Radio category and the Package Design category, respectively. Happydent Teeth Whitening Gum was a three ad radio campaign, titled ‘Blinker Laughter’, ‘Floodlight Laughter’ and ‘Matchstick Laughter’. The Reebok Sportswear package design featured the Reebok logo in nine distinct lively sketches that gave the impression of sportsmen playing different sports in various poses.
