At Mudra, Nilanjan Dasgupta will head the group handling Reliance ADAG’s soon to be launched DTH venture
Nilanjan (Neil) Dasgupta, creative partner at Rediffusion DY&R, has moved to Mudra DDB as a creative director in Mumbai. He will head the group handling the creatives for Reliance ADAG’s soon to be launched DTH venture, which is called Big TV.
According to Dasgupta, “The main reason for joining Mudra is the passion and vision that its national creative director, Bobby Pawar, has for the agency. Further, I look forward to working on a brand that is poised to make a big entry.” At Mudra, Dasgupta will work closely with Pawar and Jagdish Acharya, executive creative director, Mudra DDB.

Dasgupta has around eight years of experience in advertising. Out of these, six were spent in Kolkata at Grey Worldwide, McCann-Erickson, Bates Clarion and Rediffusion DY&R. The last two years were in Rediffusion DY&R Mumbai.
During the course of his career, Dasgupta has worked on various brands such as Gold Flake, Airtel, Ananda Bazar Patrika, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Eveready Batteries, Onida, Indian Oil, Kaya Skin Clinic and Bank of Maharashtra. In addition, the recently aired Tata Magic Love Story and Snoring films (based on the thought, ‘Har safar mein kahani hai’) were created by Dasgupta along with his team at Rediffusion. The film explores the various interesting stories that take place in people’s lives while travelling in a Tata Magic.
Dasgupta has been a recipient of awards such as the Srijan Samman, INS Think Print and several golds at the GoaFest. Dasgupta is also a poet and has written a book of poems in Bengali. He has been dabbling in theatre for the last 10 years.
