The agency's Chennai branch will handle the account.

Law & Kenneth has bagged the creative mandate for Cbazaar, the e-commerce site that specialises in ethnic Indian wear. The media spend for the brand has been earmarked at Rs 10 crore. Rajesh Nahar, chief executive officer and co-founder, Cbazaar, confirms the news to afaqs!.

The agency's Chennai branch will handle this business. The mandate includes handling the creative duties of both Cbazaar.com (targeted at NRIs and overseas buyers) as well as Cbazaar.in (targeted at locals).

For the Indian market, the media mix will be dominated by digital and print ads. The brand will continue to advertise on TV for its overseas market; this time, Law & Kenneth Chennai will work on the storyboard and creative planning for the films. The communication is slated to break in a month.

No official pitch was held before the account was awarded to Law & Kenneth. "L&K's creative work impressed us in the first meeting itself,"

shares Nahar.

Addressing the new account win, Anbu Chezhian, branch director, Law & Kenneth India, tells afaqs!, "We are glad to partner Cbazaar in its next phase of growth. With e-commerce significantly poised to grow in the coming years, our effort will be to create a niche position for the brand in the e-tailing space and strong consumer connect."

This is the first time Cbazaar has roped in a creative AoR. So far, the creative work was handled by an in-house team. The authorities are currently in the process of evaluating a media planning/buying agency. The process is likely to yield a result in the next couple of months.
