Homecoming is no doubt one of the most popular themes for Christmas adverts. Remember the 2015 tear-jerker by German supermarket chain Edeka? But if you thought homecoming is just about tears, Heathrow Airport's grandma and grandpa bear will make you smile all the way from landing to check-out in this adorable new spot, 'Coming home for Christmas'.

The 80-second-long ad celebrates family reunion as the best gift for the season. The idea comes alive with the story of an elderly couple, visualised as two cuddly bears, traveling home to meet their grandchildren on Christmas.

"Among the millions of seasonal passengers, we've had some extra-special arrivals that have made it home in time for the big day...because coming home for Christmas is the #BestGiftOfAll," is how the brand introduced them on social media.

Although the execution is quite simple, it is the antics of the bear couple that make the ad delightful, and also help in showcasing the various services that the airport offers. Interestingly enough, the grandpa bear's name, as seen on his passport, is Bair Edward!
