With the advent of 3G, significant consumption of rich content, such as videos and games on the mobile platform, is expected. Thus, UTV Indiagames plans to use Zenga TV's platform to stream mobile TV and video-on-demand content across major network operators in India.

Commenting on the association, Samir Bangara, chief operating officer, UTV Indiagames, says in an official communiqué, "With plans to optimise on the growing demand for video content, we have associated with one of the leading players in the country."

Explaining the synergy between both parties, Bangara continues, "UTV Indiagames' strong content and established relationships with network operators and Zenga's high-quality video streaming service will make this a significant service offering, which, we believe, will be compelling for users."

Shabir Momin, chief executive officer, Zenga Media feels that the association is indeed a great partnership, especially when growth in this space, as well as the increasing number of next-generation networks and handsets coming into play today, are considered.

He says, "With UTV Indiagames bringing in a strong presence across operators and Zenga TV's unique ability to deliver high-quality video streaming on low and high networks over different screen sizes, this service gains an edge over the others. This joint effort of bringing quality streaming through operators will be seen as a big leap in end-user experience and set a new benchmark for innovative services."

For the record, UTV Indiagames is India's largest integrated game developer-publisher, across mobile, online and interactive television. The company has partnered with several major game publishers and media companies across the world, such as EA, Disney, THQ, Atari, Universal, Fox, Warner Brothers, Sony, MTV and 2K. UTV Indiagames' famous titles include the first Spiderman game on the mobile platform, Bioshock, Garfield and Godzilla. In India, the company runs the subscription-based PC games service, Games on Demand, across all major broadband operators.

Zenga launched its mobile TV service in 2009. In that year, it acquired the exclusive worldwide rights for the live telecast of IPL (Indian Premier League) matches on the mobile platform. The service was then provided to both Indian and international operators.

Zenga's other services include Zenga Mail (a free push mail service), CrickZenga (a cricket scoreboard application with over 10 million users worldwide), Zenga TV and Zenga Facebook.
