He moves in from Idea Cellular, where he served as chief marketing officer.
Pradeep Shrivastava, former chief marketing officer, Idea Cellular moved to Videocon Telecommunications with effect from October 1. He left Idea Cellular earlier this year, after spending more than eight years at the organisation.
Shrivastava spoke to afaqs! confirming the development but refused to comment further about his new role.
A source close to the development at Videocon explains, "As far as telecom goes, operations and marketing are more or less synonymous. Thus, Shrivastava will handle all marketing-related activities for this part of the company."
Shrivastava is an alumnus of Delhi's St. Stephen's College and holds a management degree from IIM Ahmedabad. Prior to joining Idea Cellular, he has worked with Hindustan Lever and Lintas.
During his tenure at Idea Cellular, a communication-related highlight was the success of the popular 'What an Idea Sirjee!' advertising campaign for the brand, created by Lowe Lintas. He was also instrumental in building brand 'Idea' at its outset.
