SiS today showcased its latest innovations at Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco. The exhibitions cover best-value PC and laptop solutions for Intel platforms. Full lineup of DRAM modules will be demonstrated at the event as well.
At IDF San Francisco, SiS displayed Intel’s D201GLY, which is SiS662-powered motherboard and is designed for the emerging market as a best-value PC solution. The SiS662 chipset has caught great attention since it was announced. It not only supports Intel Pentium® 4 FSB800MHz CPUs, but also supports dual core Intel Pentium® D processors, 64-bit operating systems, DDR2 667 memory, and PCI Express interface. The Mirage™ 1 graphics engine is integrated in the SiS662 chipset to deliver better graphics performance for household application. In addition, it is able to provide a wonderful high-definition video playback.
Another best-value PC solution presented at IDF is Dell’s Affordable PC (APC) EC280, which is developed by SiS and Dell for the emerging market. The Dell EC280 adopts the SiSM661GX chipset to support Intel FSB533MHz CPU and DDR 333 memory. It is embedded with the SiS proprietary Ultra-AGPII™ technology to provide strong graphics and the extraordinary image quality.
The SiS671 and SiS672 series are SiS’s latest solutions for Intel desktop and laptop platforms. Both of them integrate SiS’s proprietary graphics engine, Mirage3 and Mirage3+ respectively, to deliver image output with fine quality. So far, SiS has numerous design-wins based on the SiS671 and SiS672 series chipsets. Customers cover worldwide leading PCs and motherboard makers, such as Acer, ASUS, ECS, Foxconn, Fujitsu, Fujitsu Siemens, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, MSI, NEC, PB, Tongfang, and etc. Other than the integrated chipsets, SiS also has discrete solution, the SiS671DX, which can be combined with an add-on graphics card to provide ultimate image quality when playing game or watching DVD. The ASUS F5V laptop adopts the SiS671DX chipset to successfully grab customer’s attention, and has received overwhelming responses.
At IDF, SiS shows off its fruitful results of SiS671 and SiS672 based solutions by demonstrating SiSM672-based Fujitsu Siemens Z17M laptop and SiS671DX-based ASUS F5V laptop. The SiSM672 and the SiSM671 chipsets are both Windows Vista™ compatible. The SiSM672 is integrated with the Mirage™3+ graphics to support Windows Vista™ Premium; on the other hand, the SiSM671 is integrated with the Mirage™3 graphics to support Windows Vista™ Basic. With the Mirage™3+ and Mirage™3, the image performance can be impressively increased whenever gaming or playing DVD.
SiS DRAM modules feature higher compatibility, better quality, and more reliability. Full lineup of DRAM modules will be displayed at SiS booth, ranging from DDR400 to DDR3-1333. SiS DRAM modules have been well accepted by OEM customers. All of them are manufactured under strict quality control and are RoHS compliant.
“SiS this year at IDF aims to share its latest technology with visitors. SiS takes it as a really good opportunity to communicate with technology professionals and the current partners. Hope to obtain more insights from the event and search for more business opportunities.” said by Daniel Chen, CEO of SiS.
