Vodafone brings two new BlackBerry smartphones to India

Vodafone Essar and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today introduced the BlackBerry® Curve™ 8310 and the BlackBerry ® 8820 in India to meet diversified needs of customers.

Exclusively available on the Vodafone network, the BlackBerry Curve 8310 is RIM’s latest innovation for customers who demand a feature-rich multimedia and GPS-enabled smartphone.

The BlackBerry 8820 is the first dual-mode BlackBerry® handset, combining EDGE/GPRS/GSM cellular network and Wi-Fi® connectivity with added GPS support.

Through the built-in GPS, the BlackBerry Curve 8310 and the BlackBerry 8820 can pinpoint their locations and also provide "out-of-the-box" support for a wide variety of location-based applications and services such as Google Map™.
