GM India's greatest sensation of the year "Opel Vectra" launched 4 weeks ago has started making waves in the Luxury and premium segment across the country. The latest generation "Vectra" available in a notchback "sedan" has received overwhelming response from customers all over the country. With over 101 cars sold within the 21 days of its arrival in the Showrooms, the car seems to be meeting the demanding tastes, lifestyle and needs of the premium segment car buyers in India.

GMI had targeted to sell around 100 cars per month but in a span of little over three weeks, the Vectra has created a niche for itself. "Opel Vectra", the fourth offering from GM's stable has now joined the much sought after CORSA Royalé, New Astra Club and the Opel Swing setting benchmarks in their respective segments.

The key highlight of the new Vectra is the revolutionary Interactive Driving System" (IDS). The IDS is one of the new Vectra's most outstanding and "intelligent" innovations. This new system combines the improved control and safety functions of the individual chassis components. Consequently, the completely new chassis on the Vectra sets new standards not only in terms of dynamics and comfort, but also safety.

The other Vectra features which make it a pleasure to drive or ride-in in the new Vectra, include the remote controlled central locking for the doors and trunk, in-dash 4 CD player, power windows, tilt/reach-adjustable steering wheel, and heated power door mirrors, electronic climate control and in-car computer with check control system to an eight-way driver & co-driver seat and a rear air-conditioner blower.

"Opel over the years has emerged as one of the strongest brand names in the automotive industry all over the world. Today, the brand name, Opel stands for quality, reliability, safety, innovation, environment friendliness and customer care across the world, GM India has brought the same global standards to India as well " said Mr. Vinay Dixit, Vice-President (Marketing, Sales and After-sales).

General Motors India is a fully owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation of USA and produces the German engineered Opel Models The Astra, CORSA, Opel Swing and the Opel Vectra from its state-of-the art facility at Halol in Gujarat.
