Cheil USA, an award-winning advertising agency, has been awarded a total of seven awards at this year’s Internet Advertising Competition (IAC).
IAC, the first industry-based advertising award competition dedicated exclusively to online advertising, is produced by the Web Marketing Association to honor excellence in online advertising, recognize the individuals and organizations responsible, and showcase award-winning Internet advertising.
Cheil USA won the Best Computer: Hardware Online ad for their online banner execution for Samsung’s newlaser printers. This is Cheil’s third year coming out on top in this category.
In addition, Cheil USA won for Best Integrated ad campaign in the Telecommunication category for their work on the UpStage by Samsung – a unique phone featuring two sides, one a phone, one an MP3 player. This work exemplifies the perfect combination of words and music using a UGC lip-sync contest which was featured on YouTube.

In the Outstanding category, Cheil kept their momentum going with five additional awards, including an Outstanding Integrated ad campaign award for their Juke by Samsung work, and Outstanding Microsite/Landing Page awards for the P2 MP3 player, Samsung’s HD Innovations, Samsung French Door Refrigerators, and MPfreedom.
Cheil’s Interactive Creative Director, Ann Marie Mathis stated, “These seven awards show that no matter what line of business, or size of budget, we can produce smart, engaging and strategic creative that gets results.”
The Internet Advertising Competition judges represent all aspects of the advertising and Internet worlds. Entries will be judged on the judging criteria and compete head-to-head with other entries within their specific category. Our judges are experienced professionals with an in-depth understanding of the current state-of-the-art in advertising design and technology, and the objectivity to score entries according to a predefined set of criteria.
Steven Cook, Samsung’s Senior Vice President and Chief Strategic Marketing Officer at the company’s North American headquarters in New Jersey, commented on the company’s wide range of success at this year’s IAC awards saying, “Cheil delivers outstanding interactive solutions that consistently help drive consumer engagement to grow Samsung brand and product awareness and preference.”
