The new Bubbaloo Blueberry is all set to colour the town blue

After successfully launching its two flavours strawberry and mixed fruit, Bubbaloo, the gum brand from Cadburys, is now geared up to launch it’s new variant New Bubbaloo Blueberry.

The campaign has been done by Contract advertising. It features a gang of kids playing cricket and their ball accidentally lands in a haunted looking house. A spooky looking old man who stays in the house picks up the ball with a sinister expression and goes in. As the kids stealthily enter the compound wondering what to do next, Bubba – the animated cat comes and gives the kids the new Bubbaloo Blueberry. As soon as they eat it their tongues appear blue. Now the kids decide to turn the tables on the spooky old man. With their blue tongues they appear out of unexpected places and scare the wits out of the old man. The ad ends with the line – Jo tongue ko kar de rang.

The creative team behind it is Raj Nair and Gopi Puthran. When asked about the ad, Raj Nair VP and Executive Creative Director Contract said, “Bubbaloo has always been a fun brand that acts as a gateway to fun and frolic for kids with Bubba the cat making it all happen. This time around we needed to communicate Bubbaloo’s variant Blueberry which has the amazing centre filled liquid that’s blue in colour and ends up colouring your tongue blue. We only had to find an interesting way to communicate it. ” Gopi Puthran added, “The insight that was used was that kids like to be in a situation where they can prove that they are no less than the elders. Also the entire spooky set up is a runaway hit with the kids.”

Apart from the film the below the line activities include contests in schools and road shows on the same theme. Apart from Raj Nair and Gopi Puthran the account management team is Arunava Sengupta and Ravi Baliga.
