Company Brief
New Delhi, October 20, 2008
Jai Suspension System Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Jamna Auto Industries Ltd, today announced commencement of commercial production of suspension springs at its new facility at Pant Nagar in Uttarakhand.
The new plant has a capacity of 24000 MTPA and will assemble leaf and parabolic springs.
The new plant will primararily cater to the requirements of TATA Motors (for their ACE, a mini truck model) and Ashok Leyland who have set up manufacturing facilities at Uttarakhand. The company has received its first tranche of orders from Tata Motors which manufactures around 800-1000 units per day from their Pant Nagar facility.
The company has spent around Rs 3 crore in setting up this plant and plans to augment the capacity to 24000 MTPA by end of fiscal 2008-09. It will also cater to the after market segment from here.
Commenting on the commencement of production, Mr Randeep Jauhar, CEO - Jamna Auto Industries Ltd said, “This new facility is in line with our expansion plans that were announced at the beginning of the financial year and we are pleased over the completion of the first phase. Our greenfield expansion at Jamshedpur is also on track. Pant Nagar as a destination was considered on the back of the company’s philosophy of setting up manufacturing facilities close to our client’s base, to derive optimum cost efficiency. This new plant will cater to all models of Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland which will be produced from their Uttrakhand facility. We are optimistic that Jamna Auto will soon emerge as one of the top three producers of springs in the world.”
