Hungama Mobile, the largest aggregator, developer, publisher and distributor of Bollywood and South-Asian entertainment content in the world , today announced an agreement with Connect2Media, a leading global mobile games publisher and developer, to bring blockbuster titles to mobile gaming enthusiasts in India. Hungama Mobile will be the official aggregator for close to 34 titles in FY 09-10, produced by Connect2Media. These games will be made available to the consumers via Hungama’s distribution networks comprising of Internet, Mobile and Direct-to-home platforms.
Commenting on the association Albert Almeida, COO, Hungama Mobile said, "With as many as 30 mn active users, mobile gaming is extremely popular in India. The size of this industry is pegged at INR 120 crores, which offers a lot of opportunities for game publishers and distributors to bring in new content. The Indian consumer is geared for world class content and Hungama’s partnership with Connect2Media will enhance the mobile gaming experience for consumers."
Adding to this, Eric Hobson, Connect2Media CEO said, "India is becoming an increasingly important market for entertainment content and this deal allows us to take some of our very best games to that market. Hungama have the knowledge and experience to give us maximum reach in the market while our content has been proven, worldwide, to provide high quality entertainment experiences on mobile devices."
The association will offer consumers a variety of internationally popular, premium branded mobile games. "Of the 34 titles, Guitar Hero – World Tour and BMW Racing have been very popular with the gaming enthusiasts world over. We are hoping to receive a similar response from the consumers in India as these games are based on music and car racing, two very popular genres in India" added Almeida.
The consumers can enjoy these games by downloading them via the internet, Tata Sky Actve Mall and GPRS connections on their mobile device. The games are compatible with all major handsets manufacturers.
