India takes a step forward to cheaper international calls through mobile VoIP

Singapore based, leading VoIP solution provider REVE Systems has launched a complete retail IP telephony platform 'iTel Mobile VoIP Solutions' for Indian VoIP service providers. With launch of REVE Systems' customized IP telephony solutions for call centers, small and large ITSPs and carriers, India has stepped- in competitive market of mobile VoIP. Indian mobile users can have now the access to the most economical mobile VoIP service using VoIP on their mobile phones. This service will be used to make cheap long distance calls. A contract has already been signed between REVE Systems and a leading telecom service provider in India. The name of this service provider has not been disclosed as yet.

According to global marketing head & country manager-India, REVE Systems, Mr. Sanjit Chatterjee, "By the end of year 2010, Indian telecom industry would have crossed at least three landmarks- Reaching the 600 million mark, implementation of mobile number portability (MNP) and start of 3G services." This will certainly boost up the number of mobile users affecting the total number of mobile internet users very positively. With launch of 3G services, more mobile users would want the cheaper media for mobile calling. Though, there are several players in local mobile VoIP market but service providers were in search of a one stop shop for all their telephony needs for long. REVE Systems is the first company to introduce the complete retail IP telephony platform for Indian service providers.

With introduction of smartphones and 2G services, mobile VoIP is being popular among niche for long distance calling at cheaper rates. Mobile VoIP applications are becoming smarter and lighter. Operators are investing in newer technologies and systems of telecommunication. End users are keen to know about mobile VoIP and this is putting an unsaid pressure on operators to launch mobile VoIP services in Indian telecom markets. "With more than 20 million NRIs outside the country and India's growing international presence, International long distance calling from India is going rapidly. With VoIP it can grow many folds.
