TCS to build new 10,000 seat learning campus in Kerala

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: TCS.BO, NSE: TCS.NS), the leading IT services, business solutions and outsourcing firm, today announced that the company was setting up a new learning and development campus in the southern city of Thiruvananthanpuram (Trivandrum), Kerala.

The new campus would house up to 10,000 professionals when fully completed and will offer TCS' leading edge learning curriculum to those who join the company from colleges.

Set over an area of 82 acres in the Technopark region of the southern city, TCS will invest 1000 crore on the project, which will become the company's training center once completed.

"The 10,000-seat campus will set the global benchmark for corporate learning institutions in terms of the physical infrastructure available as well as the holistic professional and personal development programs that will be available," said N Chandrasekaran, CEO and MD, Tata Consultancy Services. "We are delighted to expand our presence significantly in this city, where current primary training center has been located since 1997."

The Campus infrastructure will include classrooms, auditoriums, computer laboratories, a library, cafeterias, accommodation facilities as well as recreational and shopping areas. Construction will commence in 2011-12 and is expected to be completed 36 months from the date of commencement.

This new campus will be learning hub of the organization and will be connected with all other satellite training facilities across the globe.
