Kingfisher Airlines, India's only 5 star airline rated by Skytrax, today announced the launch of 'Little Wings', a new frequent flyer programme especially created for young flyers between the ages of 3 through 12 years.
With the introduction of this new programme, Kingfisher Airlines becomes the first airline from India to let young flyers earn King Miles when they fly. The King Miles will be added to the miles tally of the parent who has to be a King Club member. No other airline from India currently allows this.
Besides being able to earn miles and have them added on to their parents' miles, young flyers can now also fly for free using King Miles so accumulated on their parents' account. To get a free ticket against redemption of King Miles, young flyers will need to redeem only 50% of the miles normally required for a redemption ticket which will make their King Miles go much longer and further.
The highlight of the Little Wings programme is a life-like passport that will be given to every Little Wings member. Every time a Little Wings member flies with Kingfisher Airlines, their passport will be stamped and signed on board the aircraft by the Captain himself with a special message and autograph.
Kingfisher Airlines is the only airline from India that offers benefits for the entire family from adults to young flyers. What's more, these benefits are available on all flights on the Kingfisher Airlines route network including flights that operate as Kingfisher RED service.
Little Wings was launched over a fabulous Sunday brunch hosted by Mr. Sidhartha Mallya, Director, Royal Challengers Sports Pvt. Ltd. where more than a hundred King Club members and celebrities along with their families and children had gathered to celebrate.
Commenting on the launch of this new initiative, Ms. Anshu Sarin, Vice President-Guest Loyalty & Kingfisher Holidays, Kingfisher Airlines Limited said, "Little Wings has been designed to be a game-changer that will lay the foundation for long term guest loyalty as we indulge and engage young flyers with the unique, award-winning Kingfisher experience while simultaneously ensuring that parents get to accumulate miles even on flights undertaken by their children. The programme goes beyond the conventional industry offerings and offers a combination of in-flight, on-line and off-line experiences and rewards while giving the option of availing non-flight redemptions like getting a play station or a Barbie doll amongst other offerings on Kingfisher Airlines' Air Boutique online."
The only qualification for a young flyer to become a member of Little Wings is that their parent has to be a member of King Club. After joining Little Wings, each member receives a personalized welcome kit that includes a Passport and a signature baggage tag.
Depending on the number of flights flown by the young flyer, they will receive exclusive merchandise ranging from a cap, T-shirt, buddy badge, special bag, an aircraft model of Kingfisher Airlines and a wrist watch.
Kingfisher Airlines is a member-elect of oneworld, the world's premier airline alliance and is expected to start flying as a part of oneworld sometime in late 2011. oneworld enables its members to offer their customers more services and benefits than any airline can provide on its own. These include a broader route network, opportunities to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles and points across the combined oneworld network and more airport lounges.
