Marina Bay Sands is organizing its Grand Opening celebration on Thursday, 17 February to celebrate the opening of the destination's key lifestyle and entertainment attractions including the world's first ArtScience Museum, the premier of Wonder Full Light and Water Spectacular, seven celebrity chef restaurants, and the upcoming opening of the much-anticipated Broadway musical, The Lion King. Singapore Prime Minister, Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, will join the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Las Vegas Sands Corp., Mr. Sheldon G. Adelson, at the Grand Opening ceremony scheduled to take place at the auspicious hour of 3.18pm.

The Grand Opening ceremony will be held at the entrance of ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands, an iconic structure located on the Marina Bay waterfront. The event is strictly for invited guests and local and foreign media but members of the public will be able to witness the event from the Helix Bridge along Bayfront Avenue.

While the museum opens to members of the public on Saturday, 19 February, they can join the festivities on 17 February at 8.08 pm, when Wonder Full, Marina Bay Sands' nightly groundbreaking laser, light, water spectacular makes its debut with a repeat performance at 9:30pm. Boasting the latest multimedia technology and special effects best experienced on the Event Plaza, this Wonder Full Light and Water Spectacular will transform the waterfront every weekend with performances at 8:00pm, 9:30pm and 11pm on Friday and Saturday and 8:00pm and 9:30pm on Sunday. Starting 10 March, Marina Bay Sands will begin to run the shows on a nightly basis with two performances from Sunday to Thursday and three times on Friday and Saturday.

Wonder Full aims to infuse state-of-the-art technological mastery with Singapore's very own talents. Audiences will be treated to the 13-minute spectacle of full color laser systems, special effects including dynamic lighting of the iconic architecture and captivating music composed by celebrated Singapore composer Iskandar Ismail. The show is best viewed from the Event Plaza but its effects can also be enjoyed from the 3.5 km circumference of Marina Bay. The show is free of charge.

Starting 19 February, members of the public can have their first glimpse of the 50,000 square feet ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands which features a permanent exhibition as well as major international touring exhibitions from the most renowned collections in the world. Tickets provide access to four opening exhibitions including "ArtScience: A Journey Through Creativity", "Traveling the Silk Road: Ancient Pathway to the Modern World", "Genghis Khan: The Exhibition" and "Shipwrecked: Tang Treasures and Monsoon Winds".
