InterGlobe, that recently announced an order for 100 aircraft, the largest
in the Indian aviation history, has named Bruce Ashby as the CEO for its new
low cost carrier, IndiGo.
Stanford educated Ashby, 44, is currently Executive Vice President -
Marketing & Planning for US Airways in Arlington, Virginia. He will be
joining IndiGo in August. With 20 years of airline experience in a variety
of senior management positions at US Airways, Delta Air Lines and United
Airlines, Ashby is one of the leading minds in the aviation business today.

IndiGo has committed for 100 firm A320 family of aircraft to Airbus, making
it the largest ever order in Indian aviation history. Jointly promoted by
InterGlobe Enterprises Limited and Mr. Rakesh Gangwal, IndiGo will be one of
the most capitalized start-up airlines globally ever with an initial funding
of INR 350 - 400 crores. IndiGo will take to the skies in the next six to
nine months.
