Company Brief
Mumbai, May 16, 2011
Aspri Spirits Pvt. Ltd. one of India's leading importers and distributors of fine beverage from across the world, recently introduced one of the oldest and renowned Scotland Singe malt whisky brand BenRiach to the Indian market.
The BenRiach is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in the 'Heart of Speyside', between the village of Rothes and the town of Elgin, in the North-East of Scotland. The Spey Valley, in which the BenRiach Distillery was built by John Duff in 1898, is home to many of Scotland's great whiskies, but BenRiach has its own uniqueness borne from the particular methods and skills of the men who craft the whisky, the ingredients they use, the distinctive copper stills and the high quality barrels selected for maturation.

BenRiach boasts one further difference standing apart from the other Spey Valley distilleries, the traditional floor malting with their distinctive pagoda style chimneys that can produce peated, malted barley, enabling the distillery to capture the defining taste of peat reek in a few of their special bottling. Benriach whisky is very popular in the blending industry since it is considered to blend well without adding its own character to the whisky. In 1994 the first official bottling of Benriach Single Malt was released. It is an interesting whisky since Benriach is one of few distilleries who still have their own malting floor. Benriach distillery has been awarded as best distillery of the year twice in last 4 years. The most notable recent awards include:
• "Distillery of the Year 2007- Whisky Awards by Malt Advocate"
• "Whisky Distiller of the year 2009 by Icons of Whisky"
• "Whisky Distiller of the year 2009 by Icons of Whisky Scotland"
