Company Brief
New Delhi, May 26, 2011
The Hero Group, which owns and manages HEROtsc, one of UK's leading business outsourcing firms, today announced its foray into the domestic outsourcing business in India.
Hero BPO has been set up as a new flagship customer support centre in Gurgaon and will provide back-office and contact centre services to domestic clients.
Announcing this here today, Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, Hero Corporate Service Ltd said: "This foray is part of our strategic plan to unlock opportunities and deliver value in the country's booming service sector. Potentially, domestic BPO provides a large growing business opportunity. The service sector has been the torchbearer of the Indian economy for years and accounts for almost 60 per cent of GDP. Increasing competition requires higher levels of quality for processing and customer service which is best provided by outsourcing entities like Hero BPO.
"Verticals such as financial Services, Insurance, Telecom, Travel, E-commerce and the Hospitality sectors are expanding at breakneck speed, but are finding it increasingly difficult to ramp up their support operations. These are the verticals we would like to co-partner and support,'' he added.
This is Hero BPO's second centre in Gurgaon; the first unit caters to the International market. The unit has been built to International specifications in one of Gurgaon's prime business localities - DLF Cyber City - and will have a staff of more than 1000 people. The company is also looking at other locations for building additional centres in the future.
The BPO arm of the Hero Group currently employs over 4,000 people globally, with revenues exceeding Rs 400 Crores. The Group has a strong presence in the UK market with 11 contact centers with a majority of them located in Scotland.
The new centre at Gurgaon is in sync with the needs of a young workforce (expansive cafeteria, live counters, break-out zones with books, Xbox and other entertainment gadgets). The facilities have been laid out to create a productive and pleasant work environment where people enjoy working and to encourage them to build a long-term career for themselves. This would best suit the needs of both customers and employees.
