Giving an opportunity to book lovers of the capital, WHSmith hosted a special day with renowned Indian cricket commentator and journalist ‘Harsha Bhogle’. The event was hosted at WHSmith store at T3 at IGI Airport, Delhi. Bhogle was here to autograph and give away signed copies of his recently launched book titled “The Winning Way”.
The event attracted large numbers of people to get autographs and take pictures with one of the world's most famous commentators.
The Winning Way illustrates examples about good leadership and why some teams continue to perform well while others decline with time. The book reiterates the importance of perseverance and the right attitude to attain success.
WHSmith currently operates over 1000 stores in the UK and a number of other international locations, including Delhi, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Melbourne and Sydney airports; comprising more than 580 high street stores and 530 retail units in airports, railway stations, hospitals, workplaces and motorway service areas. WHSmith opened its first unit in India in July 2010 and has since opened seven retail units; six units in T3, IGI Airport, Delhi and one unit at T2, Mumbai. The units in T3 are all situated in prime locations; three in international departures, including a specialty Book store with café, and a further three in domestic departures, domestic arrivals and international arrivals.
WHSmith is committed to both maintaining and broadening its presence in India and is delighted to confirm that it will open two mall stores over the coming months. High profile author visits have been extremely successful in store and customers have responded very well to the regular promotions and events.
