ASPIRE International Group Inc.'s conference Infrastructure Today India Opportunity 2011, was held at the Consulate General, New York, on 16-17th September 2011, to draw attention to the infrastructure opportunities in India and demystify the process of entry. Pratap Padode, President & CEO, ASPIRE International Group Inc. also publisher & Editor-in-Chief of India based publication INFRASTRUCTURE TODAY, said, “ It is time the US engaged with India on development by investing in infrastructure than remaining a vendor of equipment and services.
The cocktail reception that kicked off the event saw Steve Forbes, Chairman, Forbes Group and Senator Larry Pressler gracing the occasion, amongst other New York ‘A’ listers.
The day long conference on the 17th had an illustrious and impressive line-up of 14 speakers from India and the US including Senator Larry Pressler; Diane Farrell, Executive Vice President and Senior Director, US India Business Council; Gautam Bhandari, Managing Director, Morgan Stanley; Luis Miranda, Chairman IDFC Private Equity, Sanjay Joshi, CEO, Lanco Infratech, Harish Mathur, CEO, IL&FS Transportation, Dr Avinash Patwardhan, CH2MHILL, Abhishek Jain, Blackstone, Dwaraknath Narsimhan, PwC amongst others. The sessions dealt with Roads, Policy and Taxation, Power, etc. An impressive delegate turnout on a Saturday validated the interest in Indian infrastructure.
