L’Oreal Professionnel's COLOUR TROPHY, the most glamorous and prestigious hairdressing event in the world, celebrated the finale of its fourth year in India on 7th October at the Jamshed Bhabha Auditorium, N.C.P.A, Nariman Point, Mumbai.

What really distinguishes the L'Oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy beyond all other competitions is its capacity to inspire. A nationwide competition that rewards the most creative and talented professionals in India, L'Oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy has a unique capability to really put to test the quality of the hairdresser live.
A unique combination of creative hairdressing, acclaimed judges, live fashion shows and fantastic prizes the event hosted by Gul Panang, was an inspiring gala affair with dinner and dazzling show-stopping performances including a fantastic display by the L’Oreal Professionnel Dream Team, comprising of 5 of the most promising hairstylists of India, who took centre-stage to enthrall the audience. This was followed by ‘Thousand and One Nights of the Future’, an exclusive show by Charlie Miller, one of the most awarded and acclaimed Hairdressers in UK and internationally.
Since its first competition, the L'Oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy has exceeded its own level of excellence each time to ensure that the bar is raised and the level of distinction is surpassed.
The L'Oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy 2011 finale too showcased a riot of beautiful, stylish and creative hairdos, and saw the trends of tomorrow unveil today, as the contestants fought it out to claim what is called the Oscars of the hairdressing industry. The evening came to a climax by revealing the Winners of the L’Oreal Professionnel COLOUR TROPHY 2011!
The first phase of the competition kick-started with hundreds of photo entries from hairdressers across India which ended on the 11th of July, 2011. The entries from each zone (North, West, South & East) were carefully sorted and selected by an esteemed national and international panel of judges. The Regional Finalists were the announced at the Colour Trophy press conference on the 13th of July, 2011. After which the regional finals were held on 5th August in DELHI, 9th August in MUMBAI, 12th August in KOLKATA and 17th August in BANGALORE.
At the end of the regional finals, all the finalist teams put their creative skills to the ultimate test live, on the 6th October at a Technical Judging Round at the L’Oreal Professionnel International Hairdressing Academy, Mumbai to prove that they are the best in the India and to win the prestigious the L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy 2011.
The contest was judged by well known faces from the fashion and style industry including

Finally 7 teams raced ahead of the rest to claim the honours – 3 winners for the L’Oreal Professionnel COLOUR TROPHY Category, 2 winners for the L’Oreal Professionnel MEN’S IMAGE Category and 2 winners for the L’Oreal Professionnel NEW GENERATION Category (one female stylist and one male stylist).
The winner for the L’Oreal Professionnel COLOUR TROPHY Category was Mane’s Salon – K Bala Prasad followed by Enrich Salon – Tabassum Sheikh (1st runner up ) and Rajasthan Salon – Deepak Sain (2nd runner up)
The 2 winners for the L’Oreal Professionnel MEN’S IMAGE Category for 2011 are Looks Salon- Mohd Ahkam ( WINNER ) and B:blunt – Walter Dorairaj ( RUNNER UP)
The 2 winners for the L’Oreal Professionnel NEW GENERATION Category (one female stylist and one male stylist) are AN John – Kabita Puri (WINNER FEMALE STYLIST) and Mane’a Salon – Bandari Sai Krishna ( WINNER MALE STYLIST)
Awards were also given out by media houses like Elle, Femina, Grazia and Man’s World
1) Elle Colour Trophy Award – Mane’a Salon – K Bala Prasad
2) Femina Colour Trophy Award – Psalm23 – Deepti Aggarwal
3) Grazia New Generation Award - Mane’a Salon – Bandari Sai Krishna
4) Man’s World Men’s image category award - Looks Salon- Mohd Ahkam
A special award was given by Jo Hansford - Regarded as the leading colour authority not just in the United Kingdom but all around the world, she is the colourist to the who’s who in UK including royalty, and is held in the highest regard for her professionalism and expertise by the hairdressing industry. The award was won by Enrich Salon – Tabassum Sheikh
The winners were ecstatic with the result and were proud that their hard work and determination was recognized and rewarded in the presence of their peers .
