The Apra Group, through its group company ROIDEC has been able to successfully develop natural oil, water based elastomer which has the potential to change the face of the world, through its unique qualities and traits that will help create a sustainable and plastic-free environment. This idea was researched upon for over a period of 10 years and finally given a concrete shape and form in the year 2011.
It’s an exemplary invention which, for the first time in the world, meets all the parameters to replace the conventional VMCH resin (PVC co-polymer) with ROITHANE (a heat sealable lacquer) and ROITHANE (a water-proof lacquer) to achieve moisture barrier properties and add strength to the paper. Our vision is to remove the use of aluminum foil and the most damaging plastic - PVC -its utilization and creation from the face of earth so as to save this beautiful planet from all of its horrid toxic releases which pollute the environment.
The new chemical is set to revolutionize the industry and indeed offer the world an entirely new and ground-breaking substitute, which will offer itself as an invaluable alternate, to the now available contaminating plastic and thereby make the world plastic free. It has got all the major requirements to make it a replacement of PVC packaging as it creates a moisture barrier, adds strength to the paper, is a heat sealant and most importantly, it is naturally biodegradable. Now imagine the use of this technique in packaging chocolates, gutka, pan masala, namkeens, chips, confectionary and any other dry product that requires plastic packaging today.
