Candor International School, the country’s first green school and a premier educational institution in Bangalore, located in Electronic City recently announced its collaboration with Apple to introduce iPads in the school for teaching and learning purposes.
Candor International School believes that the 21st century classroom is no longer a place where the teacher reigns supreme, but a place where genuine collaboration, differentiation and real learning takes place.
With this collaboration, the vision of Candor School founder Suresh Reddy to integreate the school with modern technology, has now been actualised.
By August 2012, Candor will move from Laptops to iPads and use over 1,50,000 Apple educational applications for teaching and learning. Using technology, Candor strives to minimize the use of paper and eventually emerge as a paperless school. iPad training for Candor staff has already started and will be ongoing for the rest of the academic session.
In collaboration with Apple, Candor has started equipping teachers with the skills of creating relevant content and delivering it effectively. Several awareness programmes for students and parents are being organized for the incoming months to orient them about the effectiveness of the iPad as an educational tool.
Suresh Reddy, the founder of Candor International School said, "It is a collaborative effort of creating the kind of learning environment for this generation of students' needs, wants, and expectations. Educational reforms must concentrate on newer and creative ways of designing learning environments for this generation of students."
