Amish Tripathi's first two books 'The Immortals of Meluha' and 'The Secret of the Nagas' (part of the Shiva Trilogy) have crossed a colossal print run of 500,000. These widely acclaimed books have featured on the bestseller lists of Nielsen Bookscan, Flipkart, Infibeam, among others and are now at a print run of 558,000 copies.

Very few books in India have been printed in such numbers. Considering the relatively higher average MRP of the Shiva Trilogy, the gross retail sales of both the books is even more impressive at Rs 13.75 crore within just two years of publishing.

Apart from the English edition, Westland Books has also published the Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi editions of "The Immortals of Meluha".

Within a week of its release, the books hit the bestsellers lists of several magazines and newspapers. The popularity of the books has continued to soar, and even two years later, they remain high on the bestseller lists.

Recently, well-known film maker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has signed an exclusive agreement for the Indian language film rights of "The Immortals of Meluha", generating further interest amongst readers in India. Amish's third book of the Shiva Trilogy "The Oath of the Vayuputras" is now eagerly anticipated by his massive reader base across the country. It is set to be released by end 2012.

Gautam Padmanabhan, chief executive officer of Westland Limited (Publishers of The Shiva Trilogy) said, "We are very pleased with the success Amish's Shiva Trilogy has generated since its release. The first two books of the Trilogy have been instant bestsellers that have taken a path breaking turn in promoting Indian mythology and spirituality."

The Shiva Trilogy, (comprising The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas and yet-to-be-published The Oath of the Vayuputras) is a compelling tale of a Tibetan tribal called Shiva, who's adventures nearly 4000 years ago, morphed into the mythical legends of the Hindu God Shiva. Through this fictional adventure series, Amish hopes to convey the philosophies and the spiritual messages of Lord Shiva.
