Company Release, September 24
NEW DELHI
State Bank of India in association with ‘Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited’ has launched ‘No Fuel Surcharge Program’. This arrangement offers the customer an opportunity to use debit card just like cash. The debit cards which are directly linked with the customer Bank account are a perfect replacement of cash. Moreover, with security features like PIN, it is safer than cash. Thus, debit card is all set to replace cash and become the most preferred mode of payment.
The ‘No fuel Surcharge Programme’ ATM cum debit cardholders of State Bank of India and its Associate Banks do not have to pay fuel surcharge of 2.5% at select BPCL outlets by using their debit card. Other Banks have also extended similar schemes but the key differentiator is that there is no restriction on the amount of fuel purchase. So even the two-wheeler owner whose average fuel spend is much less can avail this facility.
According to Ms. Monica Widhani, Dy. General Manager, BPCL, Retail, North, “Since SBI is the largest provider of debit cards, this alliance will give the opportunity to BPC to partner with SBI and provide the customers with more targeted value added benefits. BPC will also be able to connect directly with a large number of new customers.”
