In line with its commitment to care for the health of its employees, Showtime Group announced a tie-up with Max and Apollo Hospitals to offer free comprehensive executive health check-ups for all its employees across India.
Recognising that traditionally the event management industry has had a casual approach to the health and well-being of its own members, Showtime made the decision to add this feature to its existing health program by making health check-ups a mandatory part of the appraisal and increment process. The ‘Your Health is Your Wealth’ program has received an enthusiastic response from all employees and within a short period has garnered a 100% participation by all the Group's employees across the country.
With reactions ranging from excitement to delight, Showtimers were all positive about the move. Said Angshuman Chatterjee (Senior Creative Director – Delhi), “Ours is the only independent agency in the country to put such an initiative in place. It takes a huge load off the mind and it’s a fantastic thing to have.”Added Tarun Laroia (Senior Vice President), “A fantastic management initiative. In my 20 years of having worked with various organizations in the media and entertainment sector, this is the first time I have come across such an initiative.”
But more than just a one time move, this addition to the comprehensive health program seems to us to be another follow-through that keeps with Showtime’s historical ethos – “We are a family”. The organization has a strong belief in the power of relationships and has noticeably made a concerted effort to consistently stand by its people. Said Anand Rajput (Associate Art Director - Delhi), “I met with a near-debilitating accident in 2010 and was bed-ridden for three months. It was Showtime’s support – both mental and monetary – that actually brought me back to normalcy.”
This move is a step in the right direction and hope that it signals a clear intent by industry leaders to rehabilitate the working environment and drive in a sense of responsibility towards the long term health of all its members. Here’s what Avik Prabhu, Executive Director at Showtime Group here’s had to say, "I find myself and everybody around me at Showtime constantly pushing ourselves to break boundaries so that we can deliver on the high standards that we set for ourselves. We all know that breaking boundaries comes only with a strong commitment to delivery.
While I appreciate the commitment our teams show towards their work. I am also very aware of the pressures that our teams deal with on an everyday basis in order to deliver. Regular check-ups help catch signs of possible symptoms early and for those of us that believe ourselves to already be healthy it is a good way of reaffirming our self-belief in our physical capacities. This is Showtime's way of saying ‘Thank You’ for the hard work and fulfilling its promise to take care of the people that help make it happen."
