Oak's Management Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. (OMPCL) is all set to launch another unique IPR in September this year, in celebration of ’20 years’ of building brands’ through Events & Brand Activation. ‘The Indian Miniature Golf Challenge (TGIMC)', would be based on the lines of International Miniature Golf Championships, with Miniature golf sets especially imported from Putter field UK, one of the worlds best known names in Miniature Golf courses.
Miniature golf is an offshoot of the sport of Golf solely focusing on the putting aspect. It is played on a professionally designed course consisting of a series of holes, similar to its parent but characterized by their short length (Usually 10 yards from tee to hole), a geometric layout often requiring non traditional putting lines such as bank shots and artificial obstacles such as tunnels / tubes, ramps and such, focusing solely on the putting aspect of its parent game.
This Championship, being presented in India for the first time and in its first year will be limited to 5 cities including Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, and Chandigarh. Commencing in Mumbai, entry would be limited with only select corporate houses, Residential Societies & Clubs allowed the opportunity to participate. There will be no Open Category this year. Winners in each category i.e. in each Society / Corporate & Club will compete over one weekend for ‘The Championship Trophy’.
TIMGC, is expected to see upwards of 25,000 enthused participants teeing off for the country’s first every “Miniature Golf Challenge’, with the hope of making the shortlist to tee off for the ‘Championship Game’. Members / Employees in each category are eligible to participate and take a shot at the top positions in their individual Society, Corporate and Club and on getting the best Par score and trophy as well as get their hands on the Golden Ticket which will entitle them to participate in the ‘Championship Trophy’.
Commenting on this unique initiative, Rahul Gomes Director OMCPL said ‘ The idea originated which brainstorming on unique initiatives to build for our clients’ keeping in mind relevant TG’s as well as ensuring a connect with the psychographics of these audiences’. Miniature Golf is an International sport and has its own International Stars and circuit, whereas in India while it is known off, the opportunity to play the same does not exist. The intention here is not to connect with Golfers, but to allow people to try their hand at a brand new sport that is similar and as aspirational as Golf but is a more shortened and fun version. A lot of brand we work with are looking at connecting with a specific mindset of consumer, a consumer that belongs to the SEC A & B category, for whom the game of golf is aspirational and who are residents and members of these target Societies / Corporates & Clubs. Through this initiative not only are thy able to connect with this Target set but also the process of the game itself allows for more than adequate Brand ‘Engagement’ opportunities.
