Multi channel network (MCN) Whacked Out Media on Wednesday said that the various Facebook pages managed by the company have together surpassed 130 million fans mark on the social networking site.
According to Whacked Out, it manages more than 800 Facebook pages, which includes Facebook pages for celebrities, fan clubs, films, brands, broadcast channels and general interest pages like entertainment, humour and news.
Whacked Out said it has reached this milestone in less than three years from the inception of the company's social media division.
“This is a significant accomplishment in view of the fact that, according to latest figures, Facebook’s total user base in India is 112 million, which is the second largest in the world, only after the US,” Whacked Out said in a statement.
Ram Veerapaneni, managing director, Whacked Out Media, said, “Building and maintaining a fan-base isn’t an easy task. It is essentially community management and it's a very manual job to curate content for an entire community and keep it vibrant and growing.”
“Reaching this milestone of 130 million fan-base is a significant achievement. It's a mark of approval from social media users across the world that we are creating content that people find interesting and like to consume on digital platforms,” added Veerapaneni.
