Hyderabad Industries Ltd. has commissioned its newest asbestos manufacturing plant in Satharia (located 40 kms from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh) and product despatch begins today, 18 May.
One of the most modern plants in the country, a significant portion of its Rs 30-crore outlay has been on installing state-of-the-art equipment manufactured by HIL itself, which streamlines the manufacturing process. HIL’s unique production technology and computer controlled manufacturing at the plant will ensure consistent quality of the products. All production processes are covered by the Quality Surveillance Audit programme of the organisation.
HIL’s Satharia plant is the Company’s first plant in Uttar Pradesh and aims to cater to it’s markets in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chattisgarh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Nepal.
Commenting on the development, HIL’s Managing Director Mr. O.P. Jagetiya said: “With the boom in the infrastructure industry, we foresee higher demand for our products. We have not only expanded capacity to tap this increased demand, but by investing in technology have assured that the market will benefit from our superior quality products. Our presence in the state of Uttar Pradesh will greatly benefit our market in this part of the country.”
HIL’s Board has approved two more plants of 1.25 lakh tonnes per annum capacity each requiring a total investment of about Rs. 60 crores. The company has also got approval for a new AAC Blocks plant with an investment of Rs. 40 crores while simultaneously evaluating plans for substantial expansion at existing locations.
With the commissioning of the state-of-the-art plant, Hyderabad Industries increases its manufacturing capacity by 1.25 lakh tonnes per annum to an overall sheeting capacity of 7.5 lakh tonnes per annum. Second phase of the same capacity will be established at a later stage. The ‘Charminar’ corrugated asbestos cement sheet is HIL’s most popular product, enjoying a market share of 22 percent, establishing Hyderabad Industries as a market leader in this segment. Fibre cement sheets and accessories will also be manufactured while cement fibre boards will be introduced later.
HIL’s special technology used in the new plant ensures that the asbestos sheet products are of the highest quality and the best appearance.
Hyderabad Industries Ltd. ensures that no waste or effluent is disposed outside the plant. All wastes/rejections of the process are completely recycled. Best possible pollution control equipment and systems have been installed at its plants to safeguard the health of its employees and the environment.
The Satharia plant is Hyderabad Industries’ seventh sheeting plant in the country. There are plants for other products such as Aerated Concrete Blocks, Panels, Hysil – Insulation Refractory Products, Jointings, and Engineering Machinery etc. These are located in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Faridabad, Jasidih (Jharkhand), Trichur (Kerala) and Wada near Mumbai.
