MBTA-The Palms Tennis Academy to be launched in Gurgaon

NEW DELHI, July 14

Indian Tennis Ace Mahesh Bhupathi will launch the sixth centre of the Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academies (MBTA) today at the exclusive Palms Club in Gurgaon. The launch will be followed by Mahesh Bhupathi coaching the children and interacting with the parents and members of the Tennis playing fraternity.

MBTA, a division of Globosport Academies was launched with an aim to professionalise tennis coaching and to provide world class training to players in India. This brainchild of Mahesh Bhupathi aims to set up epicenters of quality tennis training. At present there are five MBTA centers already working towards the goal of providing a complete tennis solution to a player who has the heart, desire, talent and zeal to become a true world class professional. The tremendous response at these centers is the biggest motivation for the launch of the sixth MBTA center at The Palms, Gurgaon. The MBTA Regional Sport Center in Cochin has around 110 kids taking Tennis coaching. MBTA, The Club, Mumbai has 80 Kids. MBTA NMSA Vashi has 90 Kids. MBTA Make View Tennis Academy in Udaipur has 45 kids. MBTA Nagpur District Tennis Association has 60 kids being trained. With six MBTA centers operational now, the aim is not just to create tennis players, but also intelligent players and better human beings.

Thrilled with the idea of the launch, the ten-time Grand Slam champion and MD of Globosport, Mahesh Bhupathi said, “MBTA is where my heart is. I see this center as a way to give back tennis all that it has given me. We are in a process of getting together the best team of coaches, the finest programs ever conceived and the best facilities. Tennis has made me what I am and I want to spread this passion to the next generation of Tennis players.”
