New Delhi, April 3
The residents of Patna will no more yearn for their children to sit for the civil services examinations. With the launch of Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, the city will now be glued on to their radio sets right through the day. Parents, intrigued by the melodious voices of the Radio Mirchi RJ’s will soon crave for their wards to follow suit.
Entertainment Network (India) Limited (ENIL) launched Radio Mirchi in Patna today. The launch was graced by the presence of actor Manoj Bajpai. Soon after the launch of Radio Mirchi in Patna, 21 more radio stations will be rolled out by the end of this year by the company.
Speaking on the potential of FM radio to revolutionise media consumption, Nandan Srinath, COO, ENIL, said “Radio's strength is its immense flexibility, adaptability and suitability for a modern and active life. Lots of towns in India today are energy starved and with the launch of radio stations across the country, radio will soon be a familiar sight. It will be the best companion. All you need is a transistor with a pencil battery. We expect the Mirchi style of programming of Radio Mirchi to revitalise radio in Patna, just the way we have been able to win the loyalty of listeners in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and other cities.”
Radio Mirchi is an entertainment channel and music forms the core of its programming. The station is positioned as a sunshine channel, with a baseline, which reads ‘It’s Hot’. With round the clock programming, Radio Mirchi will entertain and inform audiences with the best of contemporary music, city happenings, Bollywood gossip, special interviews, exclusive film promotional tie-ups and lots more. 24 hours hit Hindi music is what Radio Mirchi promises to deliver to its listeners.
Mandar Patwardhan, Station Director, Radio Mirchi, is confident of winning the hearts of the people of Patna by “delivering programmes that are relevant to the people of the city. This is a station for the people of Patna - playing their music and speaking their language.”
Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM will broadcast a diverse mix of shows including Hello Patna, a charged up breakfast show to say hello! to a bright new day; Khoobsurat, for the women of today; Total Filmi, for the latest Bollywood gossip; Bumper2Bumper, a gaming show; Purani Jeans for retro music and Dil Chahta Hai, a dial in request show.
