STAR Mobile Entertainment, the Mobile Interactive Division of STAR India, has been nominated for a 2007 Mobile Entertainment Award in the category of Best Direct 2 Consumer Service. The announcement was made by Mobile Entertainment Magazine in London, England on August 3, 2007. STAR is the only Asian company nominated in the category.
The nomination comes in recognition of the division’s highly successful mobile services, targeting a wide range of Indian mobile consumers. The services recognised by the nomination include the following:
STAR 7827: One of the best known short codes in India, the service is the single destination for interactivity via text across the 11 channels on the STAR India network.
STAR 7827 Voice: A voice platform that allows users to access information and catch up on their favourite programs in the language of their choice.
Data platform www.wap.star7827.com: A mobile catalogue for customers to browse and download various content including ringtones, wallpapers, themes, animations, videos, and mobile games.
PLUS: A truly revolutionary mobile service, PLUS is a one-stop gateway to entertainment, information and other services for the mobile phone. PLUS offers mobile content of every kind including video clips of TV shows, movie reviews, news updates, sports info, mobile banking, travel ticketing and Yellow Pages services.
Text 2 TV: The first service to offer a real, live interactive and chat platform integrated with a TV channel. Every night, music fans interact with CHANNEL , one of the leading music channels in India, by sending text messages directly to the screen.
