Kids channel Cartoon Network has kicked off the Toon Games 2004 - an annual sports event that has two teams comprising popular cartoon characters in competition with each other.
Entry to the event is by invitation only and the channel is distributing passes through a massive on-ground programme comprising 400 schools in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Passes can also be procured via entry into a Toon Games 2004 contest, which is being promoted on-air as well as online.
Over 6,000 people (kids and their families) in each city will be invited to attend and cheer for their favourite toons during the games, which are being held in Hyderabad on August 22, Mumbai on August 29 and Delhi on September 11. The Bangalore chapter concluded on August 1.
Two sessions of the games will be held in each city, and the two teams, that is, Team A and B, who will compete with each other consist of characters Jerry (captain of Team A) and his team-mates Scooby-Doo, Fred Flintstone, Blossom and Buttercup, while Team B will be led by Tom, followed by Johnny Bravo, Mojo Jojo, Dexter, Dee Dee and Popeye.
