CNN has launched the second edition of the Young Journalist Award - a citation that recognises quality journalism among young media professionals in the sub-continent.
This year the awards will cover Pakistan as well, which means that competition will be tough.
Last year, the awards were kicked-off in India only, with winners being Siddharth Pandey of NDTV and Kushan Mitra of Business Today. Rahul Kanwal of Aaj Tak and Shruti Gupta of zeenews.com were adjudged runners-up.
The competition is open to journalists between 22-26 years, working in the print, online and electronic media.
Winners will get an opportunity to visit the CNN headquarters in Atlanta for a week for an in-depth overview of its newsgathering abilities and strengths. Runners-up will spend a similar period at CNN's bureaus in Delhi and Islamabad.
Last date for entries is October 15, 2004.
