From writer-producer Rand Ravich (The Astronaut's Wife) comes Life, a new drama about a cop who is given a second chance.
Premiering on STAR WORLD on Tue 8 Apr at 10 pm, the series stars Damian Lewis (Band of Brothers) as Detective Charlie Crews, a man framed for a crime he didn't commit. Wrongfully imprisoned for 12 years, he's finally freed after new evidence is uncovered that proves his innocence.
Presented with a handsome settlement, rather than retire he returns to the force to solve the murders that put him behind bars. Back at work he is partnered with Dani Reese (Sarah Shahi, The L Word), a skeptical and demanding cop who is battling her own demons. With his newfound appreciation for life, Crews goes about his business of interpreting clues and interrogating suspects in a Zen-like state of calm.
"When I was thinking about a pilot, I really wanted to start with the character," explains Ravich. "I found this character of Charlie Crews, a man who had been falsely accused and who has spent 12 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. But instead of it breaking him and instead of it being dark and dour and depressing, it made him very aware of how precious life is."
