Beginning November 29, 2004, cartoon channel Animax will kick-off a massive school contest covering 500 schools across five cities. Students will be invited to respond to a few questions, and two schools that send in the most entries will be given an opportunity to interface with Animax brand ambassador Irfan Pathan.

The initiative, says Gregory Ho, vice-president, marketing and creative services, Animax Asia, is aimed at consolidating and extending the reach and awareness of the channel among its core target audience of 7-14 years.

Animax, which was launched on July 5, 2004, reaches 12-million homes across the country, and has three prime bands on weekdays and special programming on weekends. The channel has programming dubbed in Hindi to attract a larger audience.
