UTV Global Broadcasting Limited (UGBL), the broadcasting division of UTV Software Communications Ltd, has entered into an agreement with IPTV service provider The New Media Group (TNMG), to launch its channels UTV Movies, Hindi Movie Channel and UTVi, English Business News Channel on TNMG’s IPTV platform, ‘World On-Demand’ in Japan, Australia and New Zealand from August 1, 2008.
After having successfully launched its bouquet of 5 channels in India in a short span of six months, UGBL is now focusing on reaching out to the South Asian Diasporas overseas.
Said Shantonu Aditya, Executive Director, UGBL, “We are pleased to announce the launch of our channels on the World On Demand platform. TNMG has created a first-rate and progressive platform in the emerging media landscape and it is encouraging for us to be a part of the momentum at which, IPTV is turning into an alternative content delivery mode.”
The channels will be bundled in “Community Packages” intended for the Subcontinent community subscribers of World-On-Demand well as in the World News Pack and Asian Culture Pack.
