Pune’s Radio City crowns ‘Suron Ka Sartaaj’

The hunt for Pune’s Suron Ka Sartaaj is over! Pune’s Radio City 91.1FM officially crowned Sujeet Suman as Pune Radio City’s Suron Ka Sartaaj at the Mariplex Mall. Out to regale Pune’s Radio Cityzens with the best of music, the station awarded the title to the melodious and gifted Sujeet Suman from amongst the city’s top five singing talents identified through the hunt for Pune’s Radio City ‘Suron ka Sartaaj’. Adding to the excitement at the Grand Finale of Radio City’s ‘Suron Ka Sartaaj’, was the presence of Mr.Shital Chandra from The Institute of Modern Music along with renowned Indian Classical Singer Ms. Pratibha Karnik who stepped in to judge this ‘one-of-a-kind’ talent hunt.

Concluding this mega hunt, Pune’s Radio City organized the Grand Finale of Suron Ka Sartaaj in true ‘Whatte Fun’ style. Hosted by RJ Abhijeet (Whatte Fun Mornings) and RJ Anjali (City Spice), the Finale saw the audience witness the five singing sensations - Jasraj, Sujeet, Sonia, Komal and Anshita performing LIVE at the Mariplex Mall. Wooing the audience with their melodious voices, each aspiring winner charmed the audience and judges alike by humming their way through the rounds. The first round saw the finalists give their singing best with songs of their choice followed by the second round, which was the Independence Day Special. The third and final round was Judges Choice wherein the Judges tested the Finalist’s singing range.

Outstanding singing talent combined with great performance skills and unmatched audience response made it very difficult for the Judges to arrive at one winner. After much deliberation, the Judges finally found Pune’s Radio City ‘Suron ka Sartaaj’ as they crowned Sujeet Suman as Radio City’s ‘Suron Ka Sartaaj’ who walked away with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh courtesy Radio City 91.1 FM.

Starting July 19 onwards, Pune Radio City 91.1FM’s ‘Suron ka Sartaaj’ was a citywide talent hunt to find the one soulful, melodious voice of Pune city. Offering all musically gifted Punekars the exciting opportunity to prove their musical genius and win 1 lakh in cash, Pune’s Radio City 91.1FM joined hands with Pune’s most renowned music schools - Institute of Modern Music and Sumeru School of Music and Dance for 'Radio City Suron Ka Sartaaj'. The event was supported by a robust hi-decibel promotional campaign comprising extensive outdoors, on-air and ground support. The station was buzzing with excitement as hoards of aspirants participated through citywide auditions. With hundreds of talented listeners registering to give it their best shot, the station short-listed five gifted singers for the finals.
