The story revolves around an eight year old Ashu who feels lonely as his
parents are too involved in their daily lives and are not able to give him much time. He would only get to be with his house care-taker – Gangubai. One rainy day, Ashu saves a mouse from drowning and brings him home. Gangubai is very happy and tells the boy that he has saved Lord Ganesha's pet ride. Around the same time, Ashu’s family is going through a crisis. Gangubai convinces everyone to bring Lord Ganesha home during the forthcoming Ganesha Festival.
As Lord Ganesha enters their house, things become better. Ashu befriends Lord Ganesha and is able to see him and talk to him. Lord Ganesha solves all the problems faced by Ashu’s family and also teaches him important lessons of life.
