‘Awesome Asian Action’ on UTV World Movies

UTV World Movies, India’s pioneering international movie channel, hosts a special action-packed series ‘Awesome Asian Action’ this month, every Sunday at 8:30 pm. This Sunday, Tune-in to Hero, the first foreign language film to open at #1 at the US box office and the most expensive Chinese movie till date.

Hero, starring Jet Li was nominated for Oscar and claims another 21 wins & 19 nominations. Hard Boiled, a 1992 Hong Kong action film directed by John Woo will feature on 21st December. It was the last film Woo directed in his native Hong Kong before relocating to Hollywood. A War Named Desire airing on 28th December is an engrossing crime thriller with dynamite performances from Francis Ng and Gigi Leung.

‘Hero’ directed by Zhang Yimou

Mobsters are smuggling guns into Hong Kong. The detective, acting from inside sources, gets closer to the ring leaders and eventually must work with the inside man directly.

‘A War Named Desire’ directed by Siu Fai Mak

On 28th December (Sunday) at 8:30 pm

Cast: Francis Ng, Daniel Chan Hiu Tung, Gigi Leung, Dave Wong

The story of a female JOPOK, who finds her long lost sister, is dying of some kind of disease. Her dying wish is that she sees her sister get married before she dies.
