BIG TV brings 'Lawrence of Arabia'

BIG TV has lined-up an exciting bouquet of English films on their PPV channels for the month of January. Viewers can enjoy the David Lean directed, “Lawrence of Arabia” starring Peter O’Toole, Alec Guinness, Anthony Hopkins and Omar Sharif. The film that won 7 Oscars and 4 Golden Globe awards is about an inordinately complex man, Thomas Edward Lawrence who blazed his way to glory in the Arabian desert, then sought anonymity as a common soldier under an assumed name.

Apart from this classic, BIG TV has the Peter Sellers Comedy, “Dr. Stragelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb”. The film is about U.S. Air Force General Jack Ripper who goes completely mad, and sends his bomber wing to destroy the U.S.S.R. Peter Sellers portrays the three men who might avert this tragedy: British Group Captain Lionel Mandrake, the only person with access to the demented Gen. Ripper; U.S. President Merkin Muffley, whose best attempts to divert disaster depend on placating a drunken Soviet Premier and the former Nazi genius Dr. Strangelove.

Also on show are Will Smith and Martin Lawrence starrer, “Bad Boys” and the Tom Cruise, Cuba Gooding Jr., Renee Zellweger, Kelly Preston starrer “Jerry Maguire”.

The films will be shown in back-to-back shows throughout the day on dedicated channels and subscribers will have to pay a nominal fee of Rs. 60 to access the channel. The subscription will give them access to the channel from the time they pay it till mid-night of the same day.
