IBN18 Network celebrates the Prithvi Theatre Festival

New Delhi, November 12, ‘09

This November, IBN7 and IBN Lokmat will present a unique program that will turn the spotlight on the renowned ‘Prithvi Theatre Festival’. The special half hour show hosted by Makrand Deshpande on IBN7 and on IBN Lokmat will focus on regional theatre from various places like Pondicherry, Patna, and Gwalior etc and highlight their performance at the festival this year. The show will also wrap up the key highlights from the Prithvi Theatre Festival that features some the best plays from the country every year. The special show will be telecast on IBN7 at 11:30pm and at 10:30pm on IBN Lokmat on Nov 13th.

The show will also pay tribute to renowned theatre director, actor and poet Habib Tanvir who passed away this year. Habib Tanvir was one of the pioneers of Urdu, Hindi theatre and apart from his body of sterling work such as Agra Bazar and Chandradas Chor, he was celebrated for his work with Chhattisgarhi tribals, at the Naya Theatre, a theatre company he founded in 1959 in Bhopal. The show will pay homage to his life and work with bytes from prominent actors like Aamir Khan and Naseerudin Shah.
