PIX-the premium English movie channel from Multi Screen Media Ltd. formerly known as Sony Entertainment Network celebrates the television premiere of ‘Ong Bak 2’ as PIX Super Movie of the Month. Directed by Tony Jaa and Panna Rittikrai, the action packed movie is all set to telecast on Saturday, November 28, 9pm
Ong Bak 2 is based on the story of a young Thai boxer who learns the skills and inner meaning of martial arts. Starring as lead is the director of the movie Tony Jaa, a stunt-man turned actor director. Known for avoiding any wire work or CG effects in his stunts, he is highly skilled in Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do, Sword play and gymnastics.
Set in the regal times of King Naresuan, Tien (Tony Jaa) is a man who was born into nobility but had it stripped from him after his parents were brutally murdered. During his childhood Tien learned Khon, a form of dance which is usually reserved for royalty. Although he didn't know it yet, Khon would later prove to be an invaluable aide to him. After seeing his parents murdered at the tender age of 10, Tien is forced to live on the streets where he is eventually captured by a group of thieves who take him in and teach him how to steal and fight.
With Ong Bak 2, Jaa takes his skills to the next level, showcasing himself as a master of a wide range of martial-arts styles, wire-free daredevil stunts, and even hordes of elephants, while proving to be a promising action director as well.
