Using dramatic reconstructions and compelling first person narrative, Jailed Abroad tells the true stories that would be any traveler’s worst nightmare - from travelers who through naivety, stupidity or plain bad luck have fallen foul of a local legal system and found themselves behind bars in a hell hole jail, to adventurers who have strayed too far off the beaten track and found themselves hostage to guerrilla forces. These are stories of people who went in search of adventure, a new life or the holiday of a lifetime but all ended up in situations beyond their imagination.
Speaking about the series, Sudha Sadhanand, Vice President – Programming, National Geographic Channel said, "Jailed Abroad is a compelling series about ordinary people finding themselves in extraordinary situations that turn their lives upside down. These true stories, narrated by the convicted or the captured victims themselves, present the brutal side of life along with the strength of human will and determination to get over all odds."
