Zee 24 Taas, the first 24-hour Marathi news channel takes great pride in felicitating the real heroes of Maharashtra. Zee 24 Taas Ananya Sanman has created a platform to honor the Maharashtrian achievers from different walks of life. This year Zee 24 Taas Ananya Sanman took one step ahead and aspired to give due recognition to the real heroes who have considerably contributed in their sphere of work. People who have done great deal of work in their fields but still go un-recognized and stayed away from limelight.
There were seven different categories that have been chosen to honor unsung heroes and lifetime achievement recognition to a person of stature. In entertainment category Mr. M.S Sutar for his pioneering work in film subtitling & Mr. Ashok Mulye for his contribution in promoting amateur theatre activity got recognition by the hands of Mahesh Manjrekar. In sports Mr. V.S Patil, a veteran cricket coach and Mr. Ramachandra Patkare, a curator of Shivaji Park Gymkhana were honoured by Praveen Aamre. In business category, Mr. Ravi Prahdhan got the recognition for his commendable work in computer technology and bringing down the computer prices whereas Mr. Ramesh Satpute was honoured for his work towards donating human bodies for medical purpose. In farming Mr. Balasaheb Marale was felicitated by Transport Minister Shri Radhakrishana Vikhe Patil and in education field Ms. Shubada Joshi was honoured by Mr. Anil Kakodkar (former Chairman- Atomic Energy Commission). For bravery Mr. Lallu Wijo Pallu was felicitated by the hands of Deputy Chief Minister- Mr. Chhagan Bhujbal, for his brave effort in fighting naxalites in Gadchiroli region.
The life time achievement honor was given to Ms. Suman Kalyanpur, by the hands of Deputy Chief Minister, for her indispensable contribution towards music.
The event was held on 28th January 2010 in Mumbai, proceedings of which will be telecast on Zee 24 Taas on 6th February at 8 p.m.
Zee 24 Taas got revamped recently with complete new look & feel led by whole new range of programming with varied content. With its new positioning i.e. "Ek Paul Pudhe" (One Step Ahead) Zee 24 Taas makes an attitudinal statement which is very well aligned with the channel’s effort to always be ahead of others when it comes to creating platforms for work recognition of people from different spheres of life.
The event was presented by LIC, in association with Loksatta whereas Good Knight was a co-sponsor and Superia was an associate sponsor for same.
