Toon Mafia takes control of Godfather Saturdays on Zee Studio

The Corleones heralded one of the biggest properties in the English movie television industry in recent times, when Godfather Saturdays was premiered on 7th August, 2010 on Zee Studio. The 9 PM property is now going into its third month and Zee Studio has come up with an innovative strategy to further increase the appeal of Godfather Saturdays.

9th October onwards, Zee Studio will be airing the biggest titles of Disney under the Godfather Saturdays property name. All the movies that have been lined up have very strong negative characters. By airing the animation movies under Godfather Saturdays property name, Zee Studio wants to challenge the long held perception that animation movies are feel good ones. And in a smart move, this strategy also aims at targeting the family audience that makes up the majority of viewers of the 9 PM Saturday time band.

With the tagline "The Bad Boys Are Coming Home", this innovative version of Godfather Saturdays will kick start on Saturday, 9th October, with Finding Nemo followed by Toy Story on 16th October, Toy Story 2 on 23rd October and The Incredibles on 30th October. And it just doesn't end here Godfather Saturdays will continue into November with Monsters Inc., Aladdin, A Bug's Life and many more

In addition to on-air promotion and outdoor marketing, Zee Studio has also tied up with the leading electronic superstore Croma for an on-ground marketing campaign where people will be urged to take on the bad boys of the Toon World!

So pull out that Cuban cigar folks, cause the Dons aint quite gone! They will be back on Godfather Saturdays only on Zee Studio.

Here's a dekko at the movies that'll be showcased as part of Godfather Saturdays -

Finding Nemo is a father-son underwater adventure featuring Nemo, a boy clownfish, stolen from his coral reef home. His timid father must then travel to Sydney and search Sydney Harbour to find Nemo. And upsetting all plans of a happy reunion is "Don" Darla!

In Toy Story, a cowboy toy is profoundly threatened and jealous when a fancy spaceman toy supplants him as top toy in a boy's room. Leading the villainy is the toy destroyer "Don" Sid Phillips.

Toy Story 2, while Andy is away at summer camp Woody has been toynapped by "Don" Al McWiggin who has sinister plans for the hapless Woody. In this all-out rescue mission, Buzz and his friends spring into action to rescue Woody from winding up as a museum piece.

"Don" Syndrome idolized the superhero Mr. Incredible, until the two became sworn enemies. And now the incorrigible villain has laid a trap to destroy the superhero. Will the world's greatest crime-fighting family, The Incredibles, be able to outwit the fearsome "Don"?

It's got the adrenaline rush, the racing stunts, an unlikely hero and the dreaded villain "Don" Chic Hicks. It's called Cars! Watch the Lightning McQueen battle it out in the race course to be the numero uno of the racing tracks!

The monsters' world Monsters Inc. is powered by the screams of children. Sulley and Mike work hard to maintain the power supply while protecting the innocence of the children. But arch nemesis "Don" Randall Boggs has plans that is not so benign.

Aladdin is a hero who has a magic lamp with him. Evil magician "Don" Jafar rules the underworld. An epic clash of the good and the evil.

A parody of Aesop's Fables' The Ant and the Grasshopper, A Bug's Life pitches a misfit bug Flik against the all powerful "Don" Hopper. The one eyed "Don" Hopper has a Mafia like control over the Ant's city until Flik leads the resistance to overthrow the baddie and his cronies.
