SAB TV launched a below-the-line (BTL) campaign in association with Oberoi Mall, Goregaon, Mumbai. In keeping with the theme of the show various contests like 'Reel the Deal', 'I'm the best Launderette' and 'Make it Round' were held for the consumers visiting Oberoi Mall.
With 'Reel the Deal' men were given a box of needles and thread. The deal was to thread as many needles as possible in one thread and wake away with SAB TV goodies. 'I'm the Best Laundrette' tested their ability to iron and flawlessly fold shirts and t-shirts in a minute. The contestant who completed the task fastest was announced the winner. The real test for the men was 'Making it Round' competition - the art of making round rotis. The man getting even closer to a round shape was announced the winner. The men as they tirelessly struggled to impress their better halves with making rotis, slightly crumpled shirt and… well… no one said threading a needle was an easy task!
Deven Bhojani aka Mrs. Tendulkar said, "I am sure the men who participated in the challenge have new found respect for the women and their ability to handle house work. I bet that by now we all agree that managing the house is an art, no matter who does the work at home, househusband or a housewife. It was a fun to see how men sportingly displayed their skills at threading needles, folding clothes and making round rotis."
Kishori Godbole said, "My on-screen husband, Deven Bhojani, plays an unconventional role of a house husband. He cooks, cleans, and also takes care of the kids all by himself. I am surprised to see the men competing in these simple tasks and emerging as winners."
Watch Mrs. Tendulkar starting January 31, 2011, every Monday to Thursday at 9.30 pm.
