Discovery Science brings 'Dean of Invention' with visionary inventor Dean Kamen, a globally renowned inventor with more than 400 patents, including the Segway, the insulin pump and the robotic prosthetics "Luke Arm".

Discovery Science's brand new series 'Dean of Invention' joins Dean Kamen on his quest to find the greatest scientific breakthroughs and new possibilities that will improve life for all mankind. The eight-part series follows Dean Kamen as he explores the emerging technologies being developed to deal with the most daunting global challenges of our times.

Dean of Invention, will premiere on Discovery Science every Sunday at 10 pm starting from March 4, 2012.

From space-age robotics to artificial intelligence to biological breakthroughs, Dean of Invention will reveal the visionary scientific advancements that have the ability to reinvent the future.

Episode Descriptions

1. Building the Bionic Body: New advancements in prosthetics are changing the definition of what it means to be disabled. Are we entering an era of bionic humans, when disabled people become hyper-abled?

2. Robot Revolution: After years of being relegated to characters in fantasy and science fiction, robots are finally becoming crucial players in solving real-life problems.

3. Meet the Microbots: A new age of medicine is upon us, an era of tiny robots with enormous power, including "nanobots" that are able to enter the bloodstream, find cancerous cells without anyone's guidance and kill them.

4. Gonzo for Guano: Unveils how the race is on to develop processing plants that can harness human and animal waste into power.

5. Forward Motion: Explores what it takes for Americans to find a way to make the needs of tomorrow fit with our need for mobility.

6. Future Flight: Engineers across the U.S. are working on ways to change the way we think about flying.

7. Re-gen Revolution: If scientists could grow new tissue and organs in the lab and safely implant them, would the days of desperate patients waiting for organ donors become a distant memory?

8. Wired Brain: Explores brain-computer interface (BCI), whereby the intentions and desires of the human mind can be read-and translated into action. BCI has the potential to unlock vast new potential powers for humankind.
